I have stayed here four times. The building and facilities are old, but the inn has a nostalgic atmosphere and is very relaxing. The kind landlady and the quiet owner make a perfect combination! The food is delicious for the price, so I have become a repeat customer. Pilgrims are treated to Yamazaki bean paste bread when they check out. This is one of the inns I hope will continue forever.

I believe the reason this place is so beloved by walking pilgrims is because of the kindness of the landlady.
The price is very reasonable, maintaining the traditional pilgrim-inn rate,
and the generous and delicious meals make the age of the building completely irrelevant.

She doesn’t necessarily do anything special—yet you can genuinely feel her thoughtfulness.
And that thoughtfulness never feels like a burden, nor does she ever make you feel uncomfortable about it. It made me realize—this is what true kindness means.
I actually learned something important here,
and felt that this experience taught me more about myself than visiting a temple could.

This was my fifth stay. As soon as I opened the entrance door, the hostess welcomed me warmly. She seemed to remember my face and said, “Welcome back!”, which made me instinctively reply, “I’m home.”
Dinner always comes with four dishes including the main and side dishes—generous in portion and delicious. I also love that the bath is filled with plenty of hot water at a slightly higher temperature. Every time I stay here, I truly wonder how they can offer all of this at such an affordable price.
Even when I tell the hostess that she should raise the price a little to keep the business sustainable and continue for many years, she just smiles gently.
Please, whatever happens—don’t suddenly close the inn!

When I called to make a reservation for a date in December 2025, I was told that they no longer serve breakfast. It seems you can still stay there with a room-only plan, but I decided not to book.
