I arrived early at around 2pm after visiting Fujidera, but they were happy to check me in. They also helped me with advice on the route I would be walking the next day.<br>\nThey lent me a bicycle, so I went around the supermarket and took a bath after 3pm. As others have said, dinner started at 5:30pm and was very satisfying with the Tokushima home cooking, which was hearty and rich in protein.<br>\nAfter dinner, I took a second bath, did some laundry (100 yen for the washing machine, 200 yen for the dryer), went to bed, ate at 6am the next morning, and checked out at around 6:50am. (Because it was winter and the sunrise was around 7:10am)<br>\nIf you want, they will prepare a rice ball lunch for you for 300 yen.<br>\nI passed Fujidera around 7am and arrived at Shosan-ji just before 11am. Despite my legs being worn out, I managed to get over the mountain pass and made it to Dainichi-ji just in time for 4:30pm. The location is about 10 minutes from Temple No.11, Fujii-dera, making it an ideal place to rest well and recharge before tackling the mountain path the next day.<br>\n\nThe owner is very kind and welcoming, providing warm hospitality from arrival to departure. Guests are guided to a private bath in order of arrival, and since I arrived relatively early (around 4:00 p.m.), I was able to enjoy a relaxed soak. There is one set of washing machine and dryer on both the first and second floors; the washing machine costs 100 yen and the dryer 200 yen.<br>\n\nDinner, centered around tonkatsu, was simple yet more than sufficient. Drinks such as bottled beverages and beer are kept chilled in the shared refrigerator, and payment is based on an honor system, similar to the laundry facilities.<br>\n\nThe only downside was that the room door felt a bit flimsy\u2014the lock didn\u2019t work smoothly, and there was a slight draft.<br>\n\nFor crossing Shosan-ji (Temple No.12), luggage delivery can be arranged (1,500 yen). You can also borrow a small backpack and carry only the essentials while walking the Shosan-ji trail.
