A Serene Ryokan Rich with Tradition and Local River Cuisine
Established in the Taisho era, Ryōen Tarui is a peaceful and elegant inn located just a 3-minute walk from JR Iyo-Ozu Station—an ideal stopover for walking pilgrims. With only five guest rooms, each equipped with clean furnishings and private air conditioning, the atmosphere allows for a calm and relaxing stay. The highlight is the traditional kaiseki meals, featuring local ingredients from the mountains, rivers, and sea. Their signature grilled eel, served with a long-passed-down special sauce, is especially beloved. During summer, guests can enjoy a special plan that includes dinner with Ozu’s famous “combined cormorant fishing” event, offering a magical riverside experience. The inn also features banquet halls, a restaurant, and meeting rooms—making it suitable for group stays and events. A large, free parking lot (accommodating approximately 15–40 cars) adds convenience for those traveling by car.
