A warm town inn along the sea and temple path, welcoming travelers with sunsets and hospitality
Located in Yasuda Town, Aki District, Kochi Prefecture, Minshuku Tounohama sits along National Route 55, just near the trailhead to the 27th temple, Kōnomine-ji. For walking pilgrims, it’s an ideal base. Cross the road and you’ll be greeted by the vast Pacific Ocean, especially beautiful at sunset. The inn offers 12 rooms (11 Japanese-style and 1 Western-style), and features practical amenities such as free parking for cars, bikes, and bicycles, as well as washing machines and dryers. In July 2025, the inn was handed over to a new owner and supported by crowdfunding, marking the beginning of a new chapter. With gentle encouragement that says “maybe I can walk a bit further,” this inn offers a comforting pause for your continued journey.

Greetings from the ownerOn July 31, 2025, we took over the operations of this guesthouse. We truly value the heartfelt support from everyone who contributed through the crowdfunding campaign, and we hope to create a new chapter of this inn’s story together. At the moment, the guesthouse is run solely by one person, so there may be times when we cannot answer the phone. Reservations with credit card payment can be made through our official website, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could book directly from there.

It was a room without meals, but the room was clean and the laundry was free (100 yen for the dryer).
The best thing about this inn is that they can store your luggage when you go up to Komine-ji.
This is the only place near Komine-ji, so I hope you can take advantage of it.
