A Seaside Haven that Gently Touches the Heart
Located right in front of Tainohama Beach in Minami Town, Meisanso is a long-established inn with over 50 years of history. With only nine calm, well-kept Japanese-style rooms, it offers a reassuring atmosphere that quietly supports travelers on their pilgrimage. Meals feature creative local seafood cuisine—ranging from rustic “kaizoku-yaki” to luxurious seasonal dishes made with lobster and abalone—offering flavors that evolve with the tides. The inn also provides easy access (a 5-minute walk from Yuki Station), 20 free parking spaces, Wi‑Fi, a spacious communal bath, and banquet hall facilities. Review Summary from External Sites
Guests frequently mention that “the meals were beautifully presented like those in a traditional ryokan, and everything tasted amazing.” Many also note that “while the facilities may feel a bit aged, everything was clean, and the food was so delicious and affordable that I definitely want to return,” showing strong satisfaction with the cost-to-value ratio. A minor suggestion included “it would be better if there were more floor chairs in the rooms,” but even so, comments about the staff’s warm and sincere demeanor contribute to the inn’s positive reputation.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many inns were forced to suspend operations or close entirely, and even those still operating often seem to be closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays.
As it was my first walking pilgrimage, I didn’t yet have a good sense of distances, so I ended up making reservations the day before or even on the same day, over and over again.
In the midst of all this, they were able to accommodate my stay and even provided pickup service.
The inn is run by a very thoughtful proprietress and a highly skilled chef (her son), just the two of them, and the meals were truly delicious.
A guesthouse where you can enjoy seasonal seafood. You can enjoy abalone dishes from June to September, spiny lobster dishes from September to December, and moray eel dishes from December.
It was run by a nice landlady and a good chef (son), and the food was really delicious.
