A quiet rest stop nestled in coastal grassland—safe refuge for walking pilgrims
Amidst the long journey of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, Sunokawa Park Campground offers pilgrims a safe and peaceful alternative to wild camping. The spacious grassy free sites are well-maintained and completely free to use, with clean kitchens and toilets provided. Registration at the management office is required beforehand, where wooden name tags and garbage bags are issued—this thoughtful system itself adds to the sense of safety. Even on rainy nights, the large covered rest area offers reliable shelter for setting up a tent. Right across from the site is the “Yurari Utsumi” hot spring, perfect for soaking away fatigue. With a well-balanced harmony of nature and facilities, this is a reliable safety spot for “just one more night” of calm rest.

I used it on the Nojuku Henro. It’s cheap and has a good atmosphere. On rainy days, there is a large roof, so if you include it in your camping plan, you will be safe. There is also a management office and a shop. There is a hot spring facility in front of you and you can eat.

★★★★ (4 out of 5 stars)

It was cheap at 300 yen, and the atmosphere was good, and I was able to stay safely and comfortably. The lawn is also well manicured. Recommended for Ten Tomari Pilgrims.

★★★★★ (5 out of 5 stars)
