A quiet hot spring inn nestled within the Takamatsu Crater, where blessings from a meteorite spring forth
Located near the 83rd Shikoku temple, Ichinomiya-ji, Natural Hot Spring Kirara is a tranquil inn that taps into a spring rich in metasilicic acid, gushing at 270 liters per minute from 300 meters underground—believed to originate from a meteorite crater. Its spacious rock bath, ceramic tub baths, multiple jet baths, and saunas are perfect for healing the weariness of travel. Inside, the restaurant and relaxation lounge provide space to dine and unwind, offering a comforting sense of completeness. The inn offers room-only accommodation plans, free Wi‑Fi, and a bike stand, making it a reliable place for walking pilgrims to rest, recharge, and quietly prepare for the journey ahead.

Many reviews highlight that “Kirara is open from 6 a.m. to late at night, making it very convenient to stop by.” Guests also praise the variety of facilities: “The open-air bath, spacious indoor baths, jet baths, salt sauna, large sauna with a TV, and ceramic tub baths were all fantastic.”
Accessibility and cleanliness are also appreciated: “It’s easy to get to, clean, and comfortable to use.”
Staff service gets high marks as well: “The staff remembered my face and warmly greeted me with a ‘welcome back,’ which was so nice,” and “Drinking a draft beer in the rest area after a bath was the best.”
Some did note, “It gets crowded in the sauna, and some regulars have questionable manners,” but overall, the sentiment remains positive. The facility is widely seen as “a cozy, well-equipped hot spring resort with affordable pricing and diverse bathing options.”
Whether it was your first pilgrimage, walking pilgrimage, continuous pilgrimage, or reverse pilgrimage.
★★★★ (4 out of 5 stars)
I stayed here after visiting temple number 85, Yakuri-ji, and temple number 83, Ichinomiya-ji.
After checking in at the hot spring facility, I headed to a nearby accommodation. My room was on the third floor, but there was no elevator, so the stairs up to my room were the final challenge.
The room was like a rental office, and the only place I could relax my tired body was on the bed. I immediately headed to the hot spring facility, which I could use for free, and was able to soothe my legs that had been overworked all day.
I recommend this for people who like baths.
Car pilgrimage. I visited the base of Kagawa Prefecture for consecutive nights (2 days).
It will be an apartment-type accommodation.
There is no “narrow feeling” like a hotel, and there is a sense of openness.
I think you can enjoy the “relaxed feeling”.It is an apartment about 50 meters (1 minute on foot) after checking in at the hot spring reception.
There is also a restaurant attached to “Kirara Onsen” itself (6:15 to 21:00).
“Kusuri no Lady(Drug store)” is a 5-minute walk away, but a convenience store is a 10-minute walk away.
We recommend that you prepare the necessary items in advance.
I think it’s a good idea to refer to the posted image.I really liked it myself.
