A traditional seaside inn embraced by ocean views and home-cooked hospitality
Located along the pilgrim’s path leading toward Cape Muroto, Minshuku Tokumasu offers the warmth of a family home with the Pacific Ocean spread out before it. With 8 traditional Japanese tatami rooms, the inn is fully equipped with Wi‑Fi, laundry and dryer machines, washbasins, and climate control, providing a comfortable stay for tired travelers. The highlight is the lovingly prepared home-style meals—grilled bonito seared in straw, local seafood, and mountain vegetables—which gently soothe both body and soul. Nestled between the vast ocean and the towering mountains behind, this inn even offers the chance to witness the magical “Daruma sunrise.” It’s a peaceful haven where light, stillness, and nourishment come together to support pilgrims with care.

First of all, the location is the best. There are hardly any lodgings on the road to Cape Muroto, so I think many people use it. The dishes where you can enjoy plenty of seafood were also good. Getting ready for the morning while watching the sunrise over the horizon will lift your spirits.
If you stay for one person, it will cost 4,600 yen. Breakfast cannot be eaten until after 6:30. If you check out before breakfast, your meal will still cost the same amount. I think I wanted at least some rice balls for breakfast. There won’t be any restaurants in the future.
The food was really delicious, using local fish and vegetables. The inside of the building was clean, spacious, and relaxing. The homely atmosphere was great.
