A heartfelt inn that blends into the community, offering warmth like home
Located along the national road in Hane, Muroto City—nestled between sea and mountains—“Ouchi Yado Shidao” welcomes pilgrims like a visit to a relative’s home. This cozy guesthouse is a renovated traditional Japanese home, offering four rooms (1 Japanese-style and 3 Western-style), all equipped with Wi-Fi, a washer, and a dryer—essentials for long journeys. The owner also works as a local guide, providing helpful regional insights for pilgrims and travelers alike. In addition to basic stays, they offer delicious homemade meals using local ingredients. The free parking and 1-minute walk from the nearest bus stop make it convenient for car pilgrims as well. This inn is rooted in the kind of quiet comfort that lets you feel: “I can rest here, and I can walk again tomorrow.”

A Message from the Host
We have been open since April 2020. I am using my house as a lodging. I want it to be an inn where you can relax and feel like you’re at home! May you be a source of strength for the pilgrims tomorrow! I will do my best in this area where there are few accommodations❗️

As the name suggests, this is an inn where you can enjoy the atmosphere of being in your own home. The great thing about the proprietress here is that she wants customers to eat Muroto’s seafood, so when a reservation is made, she goes to Muroto to buy ingredients. Moreover, the seasoning is delicious and the cooking skills are outstanding. We also have catered meals and cafes depending on the day of the week. This is an inn that I definitely want to stay when I come to Kochi.
It was a very nice inn. I stayed there alone because it was the off-season for the pilgrimage. The room was a bed, which is unusual for a pilgrimage inn or a guesthouse. The building is old, but the facilities have been newly updated and I had a comfortable stay. The only old-fashioned facility was the bathroom, but it was a tiled stainless steel tub and had a nice feel to it.
I was also grateful to be able to eat local food.
It’s located in front of the bus stop in front of Hane Hospital, so I thought it was easy to access.
I’d like to use this place again next time.
