A Warm Hideaway Gently Inviting You with Ocean Views and Sunset Skies
Located right between Temples 53 and 54 of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, Umibe no Oyado Meguru sits like a front-row seat to the serene Seto Inland Sea, where island silhouettes and soft sunsets unfold in quiet beauty. Offering heartfelt homemade meals using homegrown vegetables and a level of hospitality that feels like coming home, the inn exudes a deep sense of comfort. There are just two Japanese-style rooms thoughtfully renovated from a traditional house, each equipped with Wi-Fi and a washer-dryer, creating a restful stop for tired pilgrims. In this small, peaceful space, you may find just the gentle nudge you need to say, “I’m ready to walk again.”

Opened on June 8, 2022 after renovating an old private house
It is run by a couple and their three daughters.
I made a reservation a month ago (*post date: July 2022).
I was the first to book.
I chose a private room.
The amenities were cute, and there were small bags and pajamas to carry around in the room.
Automatic washing machine is free.
I arrived on a hot day, so I asked them to give me a watermelon after taking a bath.
Even though I booked a room without meals, I was treated to a family dinner curry.
After dinner, I climbed the embankment behind the house with the owner’s family and watched the sunset.
Only two groups can stay, so it was quiet and comfortable for me, who was tired of the lively “Pilgrim Talks”.
Breakfast starts at 6am, so we were able to leave early.
I think it would be 5 stars if you could see the sunset from the embankment behind the inn. Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy and we could not see the sunset.
