No. 24 A cafe-combined lodging located 400 meters north along the coastal national road after descending the slope from Hotsumisakiji Temple. This is the most popular lodging for walking pilgrims in Shikoku, featuring just three rooms. Upon being shown to your room, you’ll find a six-tatami space plus a bit extra, decorated with a hanging scroll of the Seven Lucky Gods in the alcove. Soft and clean bedding was also prepared. On that day, there was one other person besides myself, so there were two guests in total.

Before dinner, I enjoyed a bath, and I was delighted that they change the hot water in the bath for each individual guest.

After cooling down from the bath, I was invited to the dining area, where a variety of dishes were promptly served. I was amazed by the large, thick slices of sashimi. Unique to Tosa, there was seared bonito called “Tataki,” along with fresh sashimi of dogtooth tuna, grunt, and purple amberjack. The grilled dish was a piping hot gurnard. There were also pickled radishes and carrots, aromatic Japanese side dishes, and freshly fried tempura. Besides stewed squid, there were small unidentified fish and clams, and a red fish soup, and I thought there was another dish, but the meal was so delicious and plentiful that my stomach was overwhelmed.

Breakfast started at six in the morning. I requested a Japanese-style course. Warm grilled fish and raw eggs from Tosa Jiro were the main dishes. Although the inn only has three rooms, the dedicated and sincere service made my stay very fulfilling.

The bath was very clean and excellent, with the staff changing the water for each person. The food was also handmade and thoughtful, and everything was delicious. I recommend this place.

Used for a pilgrimage that changed its plans due to rain.
Highly recommended. Clean.

The bath water is changed for each person.
They wiped rain-soaked umbrellas and handed them over to the pilgrims leaving the next day.
Laundry is a hospitality service.
Two kind ladies are very considerate.
