A sacred pilgrim hut watched over by the Daishi, nestled in a quiet countryside

Rebuilt in 1930 to honor Mr. Yamamoto, a local man who once welcomed a thousand pilgrims, the Senninyado Kinen Daishido continues to serve as a zennon-yado—a free lodging steeped in generosity. Though modest—a single 8-tatami mat room with futons and blankets—the presence of a statue of Kobo Daishi watching over the night provides a sense of quiet reassurance. Managed by the nearby Yanaze Udon Yamamoto Shop, pilgrims are kindly asked to notify the staff when staying, a gesture that reflects the warmth of the local spirit. This small hut, preserving the soul of traditional pilgrim hospitality, gently nurtures body and mind midway through the journey and offers a moment of stillness to carry the walker into the next day.
