The food is delicious. The drinks in the refrigerator were also cheap and helpful. The proprietress is friendly and easy to talk to.

We were warmly welcomed even though we had a reservation on the day. The owner was very friendly and we had a great time. The food was also very delicious. Yuzu ponzu sauce is also handmade and sold! It was so delicious that I sent it in the mail after I bought it.

From 2022.02.06, we stayed for 2 nights on the second lap of the pilgrimage walking backwards.
(*As for Ashizuri Hitagashi, I think it’s better to go by the east-west route, but be careful on the old pilgrimage road. There is a lot of garbage, there are landslides, and it’s very rough. Don’t go on a rainy day or the day after it rains. It’s better. I chose a different route from the first lap, and because it was the opposite way, I got lost a lot, and I walked 51km round trip for about 12 hours.)

The recommendation here is the fish dish of the former fish shop proprietress! Please eat seasonal fish for an extra charge! There are many fish that can only be eaten at Ashizuri! It’s really delicious.

☆Facilities: Only the men’s toilets are Japanese-style, and the women’s toilets are washlet toilets. The room was clean, about 8 tatami mats, and had an air-conditioned TV. smile.
☆ Meals: Recommended for those who expect the food at the inn. It will definitely be a satisfying meal for the rest of your life.
☆ Location: Easy to find as it’s along the pilgrimage route. You can easily find it by its large signboard and tropical trees. smile
☆ Service There is also information on the pilgrimage, and the proprietress is very knowledgeable about fish! ! Also, on the second night, I got fish that I can only eat at Ashizuri, and it was a fierce horse that I can only eat here, which is a foul, lol.

This inn seems to be a healing inn, and my acquaintance happened to stay there half a year ago, so when I contacted him, he remembered various things and cried with joy. The proprietress also remembered, and when I told her that my acquaintance was doing well, she was in tears.

Until the cafeteria closed at 20:00, there was no end to the topic. smile.
Since we were leaving at 5:30, we didn’t ask for breakfast, but we had rice balls and bananas for lunch. We left after two nights, and a few hours later it rained, and we took shelter at a cafe along the pilgrimage.

It seems that there are many people who like it and stay for a long time.
I think I get it, lol.

Also, I will definitely visit Ashizuri to eat fish!

It is located on the pilgrimage route 19km before No.38 Kongofuku-ji. It is in front of the bus stop “Kohama”.
Meals are mainly fresh fish dishes, and if the timing is right, they will make “Katsuo(bonito) no tataki” right in front of you.
The washing machine is free and there is a drying area, which is helpful. It seems that many people stop by after finishing the pilgrimage, and I think that’s because of the owner’s personality.(It’s like being in charge of public relations for this inn 🙂 )

I stayed here for 2 nights for a round trip. It will be lighter if you leave your luggage there, but the distance is quite long.
This is definitely the best inn along the pilgrimage route.
The landlady is really kind and caring. It would not be an exaggeration to say that she is the mother of a pilgrim. Ever since I stayed here, I’ve been thinking about the landlady and encouraging myself as I walk every day.
The mackerel sashimi was delicious. The rice is also delicious. This is an inn I would like to stay at again, regardless of my pilgrimage.
